"Classes struggle, some classes triumph, others are eliminated. Such is history; such is the history of civilization for thousands of years. To interpret history from this viewpoint is historical materialism; standing in opposition to this viewpoint is historical idealism."

The Great Leap Forward (GLF) was an event in China launched by Chairman Mao Zedong to reach ultimate Communism before Russia and to create agriculture and iron surpluses to rival the economies of Western countries.
"We are advocates of the abolition of war, we do not want war; but war can only be abolished through war, and in order to get rid of the gun it is necessary to take up the gun."

Thesis Statement:
As one of the last standing nations of Communism, the People's Republic of China (PRC) has had a cataclysmic and complicated past. Mao Zedong helped shape the government of China and founded the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), trying to better the lives of the Chinese. During this process, a five year plan called the Great Leap Forward was devised to create communist utopia. Mao led his people into destruction in order to save China. Today, China still lives under Mao's leadership and his philosophy continues to loom over the people of China.
